Girls Varsity Swimming

Shannon McNamara has been the Girls' Varsity Swimming and Diving head coach at Flat Rock since the 2020-2021 school year. McNamara is a former Flat Rock swimmer and 1995 graduate of Flat Rock High School. She continued her athletic career at Wayne State University where she swam and ran cross country for the Warriors. She held the 200 butterfly record during her time at Wayne State. McNamara graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Education in 2000 and achieved a Masters degree in Multidisciplinary Sciences in 2003. 

McNamara began her coaching career in Taylor in 1999, continued on to coach at Woodhaven in 2000, and started coaching for Flat Rock when swimming was brought back at the middle school level in 2018.

Coach McNamara is currently a teacher in the Woodhaven-Brownstown school district, teaching STEM at Brownstown Middle School. She lives in Flat Rock with her husband and two daughters.
