Boys Junior Varsity Football

Joel Stapleton started teaching for Flat Rock Schools in the 2002-2003 school year. Mr. Stapleton got his Bachelor's degree in History with a concentration in secondary education from Albion College where he also played football. He received his Masters in Education from Walden University. Coach Stapleton spent 6 years at Simpson middle school and has taught history at the high school since 2009.

Coach Stapleton coached football for 21 years at all levels including the middle school, JV, and varsity assistant. He also coached the wrestling team at Simpson for 7 years. Coach Stapleton has been the head boys track coach since 2009 after serving 2 years as a volunteer assistant with the program. As boys head coach 10 individuals have qualified for the state tournament in 13 events. As throws coach 11 boys and girls have qualified for the state tournament. 

Coach Stapleton also serves as the senior class sponsor and coach for the Quiz Bowl team.
